About The Inside Scoop
updated March 6, 2010

Deep in the throws of Campaign 2004, friends of the Scoop Marci VanAdestine, Tim Higgins, Carl Soderberg and Rick Sense were trying to find a way to stay in contact with Bush/Cheney volunteers and politically interested folks in the Fox Cities, Wisconsin. They thought of many different avenues, but settled on the idea of developing an ‘information tool’ that would be created to serve the purpose of keeping in touch with and communicating campaign updates to the growing number of grassroots volunteers.

The first issue of the Scoop was only a few pages in length, and was received by less than 200 'subscribers’ on August 14, 2004. Since that time, more than 3,500 people now receive a reminder email weekly about new articles posted on the Web site.  This list of ‘subscribers’ has grown beyond the Fox Cities as well, and includes readers in more than 30 states and 4 countries.

Since entering cyber-space on January 7, 2007 nearly a half million visitors have stopped by the Scoop's Website at www.theinsidescoop.us (see 2009/2010 stats below).

Additionally, The Inside Scoop has been quoted by local, state and national media outlets and writers including Rush Limbaugh, the Wall Street Journal's John Fund, Radio 620 WTMJ's Charlie Sykes, WTAQ's Jerry Bader, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, the South Bend Tribune, and Wisopinion.com.

The list of people who have contributed articles and or interviews to the Scoop continues to grow and includes former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, Mark Rahmlow, Carl Soderberg, former Wisconsin State Representative Jean Hundertmark, former Wisconsin State Assembly Speaker John Gard, former Congressman and former U.S. Ambassador to Tanzania Mark Green, Milwaukee County Executive Scott Walker, Congressman Tom Petri, Congressman Paul Ryan, Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner, Congressman Mike Pence, Wisconsin Attorney General JB Van Hollen, Mark Graul, Wisconsin State Senators Ted Kanavas,  Alberta Darling, Scott Fitzgerald, Dan Kapanke, Mary Lazich, Scott Fitzgerald, and Mike Ellis, former Wisconsin State Representative Steve Wieckert, Wisconsin State Representative and former Assembly Speaker Mike Huebsch, Wisconsin State Representatives Kevin Petersen, Phil Montgomery, Brett Davis, John Nygren, Jeff Fitzgerald, Gary Tauchen, Roger Roth, Karl Van Roy, and Garey Bies, Republican Party of Wisconsin Chairman Reince Priebus, Reid Ribble, Sean Duffy, Brian Sikma, Ben Froland, Tom Tiffany, Camille Solberg, Nathan Berken, Dan Romportl, Jim Rademaker, Jason Buss, Robin Marohn, Ryan Sense, Matt Erickson, John Maino, Chris Mehring, Jason Cook, Brad Robinson and famed historian Richard Norton Smith.

Now in its sixth year, Scoop campaign coverage is still a theme but other topics are covered on a regular basis.  For a free subscription to The Inside Scoop, please send an email to rdsense@aol.com.
