Kagen’s Comments Keep Kagen in Hot Water

FEC filing reveals interesting list of donors

Like a dog returning to its own vomit, Representative Dr. Steve Kagen, M.D. (Democrat-Appleton) keeps revisiting his remarks he claims to have made, er… not made, ah well… sort of made while visiting The White House in December.  But in spite of Babelgate-a controversy of his own making, we now learn from the freshman representative’s most recent filing of his campaign’s Federal Election Commission report he has friends that are willing to overlook his verbal insensitivity and truthfulness.

Tim Ryan from Shawano’s Leader Reporter writes that Representative Dr. Steve Kagen, M.D. (Democrat-Appleton) stated to a Leader reporter last Friday that, “I haven’t acted in a way that requires an apology.”  Ryan’s article quotes Kagen as saying, “I tried to relate in that meeting what happened accurately.  I think that I did.”  Now, let me make sure I have this correct, this is this the accurate version of events as opposed to what Representative Dr. Steve Kagen, M.D. (Democrat-Appleton) said last week, or the week before or the month before….

Kagen continued, “If I’ve mishandled anything, I’ve mishandled the press. I’ve mishandled the entire opportunity to put something down as just a comedic moment.”  Mishandled the press?  How about mishandling the truth Dr. Kagen.

Touching on the Laura/Barbara issue Kagen commented, “I did mistakenly refer to Mrs. Bush as Barbara.  There wasn’t anything disrespectful about it and it’s been mischaracterized completely.”  Mischaracterized?   Mischaracterized by whom?  By you, Dr. Kagen.

Touching on his encounter with Karl Rove, Kagen added that he did say, “I’m Dr. Multi-millionaire and I kicked your ass” to the White House counsel.  Based on all of the versions of the now infamous meeting between Kagen and Rove in The White House bathroom I find it interesting that Representative Dr. Steve Kagen, M.D. (Democrat-Appleton) could take his foot out of his mouth long enough to have this conversation.

It seems that Representative Dr. Steve Kagen, M.D. (Democrat-Appleton) is out of control.  However, it appears that Kagen’s mouth hasn’t gotten him in trouble with everyone.  His most recent campaign finance report reveals an interesting collection of supporters that have contributed to help him relieve his campaign debt and is worth a look.
