Welcome to The Inside Scoop’s 3rd Annual

Political Prognosticators World Series

RESULTS!

By Rick Sense

Baseball season has ended with the new York Yankees as World Champions.  So how did The Inside Scoop's Annual Political Prognosticators fare with their picks from Spring Training?  The winner for World Series picks was Dan Romportl, staff member for the Senate Republicans at the state capitol in Madison, who back in March correctly picked the Yankees to beat the Phillies in the Fall Classic.  On the regular season picks, two prognosticators tied for first place on their division selections.  The winners here were André Jacque, candidate for State Assembly, and Adam Field, staff member for Rep. Dean Kaufert.  Finishing third was Reince Priebus, Republican Party of Wisconsin Chairman.  Congratulations to all of this year's winners and thanks to everyone that participated.  Check back in March of 2010 for the fourth installment of  The Inside Scoop’s Political Prognosticators World Series.

Participants and results appear below.

Scott Walker (SW) Scott is currently Milwaukee County Executive and candidate for Wisconsin Governor in 2010.

Senator Ted Kanavas (TK) Ted represents the Brookfield area in the Wisconsin State Senate and is active in youth baseball.

Senator Scott Fitzgerald (SF) Scott is the Wisconsin State Senate Republican Leader and represents the 13th Senate District.

Representative Roger Roth (RR) Roger is from Grand Chute and serves the 56th Assembly District in Madison, has served 3 tours of duty in Iraq and is the nephew of former U.S. Congressman Toby Roth.

Representative Scott Suder (SS), Scott is from Abbotsford and serves the 69th Assembly District in Madison.

Reince Priebus (RP), Reince is chairman of the Republican Party of Wisconsin.

Ryan Eddy (RE), former Policy Advisor to the Director of the Domestic Nuclear Detection Office, Department of Homeland Security and former White House staffer during the most recent Bush Administration.

Juan Manigault (JM), Republican candidate for Mayor of South Bend, Indiana in 2007 and South Bend Silver Hawks fan.

Brian Sikma (BS) is a native Hoosier, conservative Republican communications strategist who has assisted numerous campaigns, and is a contributor to several blogs and publications. Brian lives in the Milwaukee metro area and he enjoys baseball, is a hopeful Cubs fan, but makes no claim to being a good judge of seasonal outcomes.

Tyler Vorpagel (TV), life-long Milwaukee Brewer fan and former Chairman of the UWGB College Republicans is currently Field Representative for Congressman Tom Petri in the Congressman's Fond du Lac office.

Dan Romportl (DR), Since graduating from UW-La Crosse in 2006, Dan has held several positions in Republican politics.  He worked for Mike Huckabee’s presidential campaign in Iowa and South Carolina. He currently works for the Senate Republicans at the state capitol in Madison.

Adam Field (AF), Adam serves as a member of Wisconsin State Representative Dean Kaufert's staff.

Brandon Rosner (BR), was the campaign chairman of the Gard for Congress campaign in 2006.  Brandon continues his quest to visit every Major League Baseball park.  When Brandon isn’t at the ball yard scoring along games in Section 206 at Miller Park, he can be found serving as his company’s official unpaid professional baseball analyst during the day.

Alejo Torres (AT), biggest Yankees fan outside of New York, he played four years of college ball and still plays in summer leagues in Chicago.  He’s married with one child, and lives in downtown Chicago and he works for the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago.
