It didn’t start with ice cream. It started with a decision.
 
For a long time, the plan was medicine.
 
I studied biology, followed the path, and did everything I was supposed to do. But somewhere along the way, I realized something didn’t fit. I didn’t want a life that looked good on paper—I wanted to build something real. Something I could control. Something I could be proud of.
That decision changed everything.
From Fairfax roots to a mobile concept
Growing up around small businesses—especially through my father’s restaurants—I saw firsthand what it meant to serve people well. Not just food, but experiences.
After managing a retail store in Washington, DC, I made the jump.
Instead of opening a traditional storefront, I chose a different path:

👉 A mobile ice cream parlor
Lower overhead. More flexibility. And most importantly:
👉 The ability to go where the events actually are.
I reinforced that decision by attending the Penn State Ice Cream Short Course and continuing coursework in the field. This wasn’t a hobby—it was something I wanted to do right.
Why catering became the focus
Early on, I noticed something:
Events didn’t just need dessert—they needed certainty.

• Will it show up on time?

• Will it look good?

• Will it actually run smoothly?

• Will I end up overpaying?

That’s where most vendors fall short.
So instead of competing on price, I built The Inside Scoop around something different:
